Why to register

Customizing the program

You may customize the look of the program and the way it works in the Common Settings Window. Click the button on the toolbar or choose Settings >> Common Settings to open this window.

You will see the following options:

  • Mailer Settings
  • Sending options
  • Miscellaneous

Mailer Settings:

Here you may change how AMS signs sent messages. By default, it signs them with the built-in signature "Atomic Mail Sender version 2.00". But you may tell it to sign as Outlook, The Bat, Netscape or any other popular mailer.

Also, you can increase or decrease the number of simultaneously sent messages and the character set used for messages.

Sending options:

On this page you can enter DNS servers. If you don't know your DNS server information, you should contact your Internet Service Provider. Or you can run WINIPCFG.EXE under Windows 9x or PICONFIG under Windows 2000/NT/XP.

In most cases the DNS will not need to be changed.

Mail severs sometimes go down. The time-out values show how long AMS will wait for them. If they don't answer in that amount of time, the message will not be sent.

ISP's SMTP settings:

This page is to setup the settings required to deliver e-mail via your Internet Service Provider. If the box Use ISP's SMTP server... is NOT checked then AMS will never use your ISP to deliver non-sent mail. If checked then it will deliver only that mail what were not delivered directly.

In addition, you may setup some e-mail address masks which always will delivered through your ISP. It may be done in the area marked Always send... If e-mail address of the recipient contains any string from this list then it will delivered only via ISP's SMTP server. (For example, AOL.com and some other world known providers do not accept mail from SMTP servers located on the dial-up computers, therefore mail should be delivered using your ISP)
